Section felling a 90ft London Plane (Platanus x hispanica) in Greenwich, S. London. A fire near the base five years earlier would leave a patch without bark or sap wood, and from this, fungal growth and latterly mechanical damage by wild animals left the tree dangerously unstable. On the day of felling, an arm could be passed diagonally through part of the base.

Removal of a 80ft Willow (Salix alba) in Selsdon, S. Croydon. A month of heavy rain weakened the ground and then a night of gale force winds brought this 90yr old tree down squarely on top of the neighbouring house. The great weight of the trunk and large limbs, and movement of these during the removal was a real danger to workers and the three properties involved.
